February Update: Building a Strong Foundation, Establishing a Community of Patrons, and More!
Last month, we posted our first monthly update to track our goals and progress. I'm delighted to share my recent progress and a story that I hope will inspire you.
Decent Fintech is a consulting company founded by an experienced fintech product developer. They have worked for data companies and startups in Denver and Seattle, and are knowledgeable in financial portfolio tracking, technical analysis, data science, DevOps, and more. Their specialties include SEO-friendly websites for product blogs and documentation powered by static generators.
Founder Story
Over the years, I have gained immense experience helping traders test their trading logic and providing them with the tools to create next-generation trading opportunities to achieve their financial goals. This work has been incredibly rewarding as I have assisted thousands of traders in optimizing their technical solutions and achieving their desired outcomes.
Now, with my new product, Optimizer0, I am taking a simpler approach that focuses on portfolio goals rather than individual strategies. This powerful tool is designed to help clients build and achieve their financial objectives in a more streamlined and efficient manner. Traders can leverage the latest technology and research to optimize their portfolios and attain financial success with Decent Fintech's Optimizer0. - Matthew
Goals
I've been working hard on a new project and have refined some ambitious goals for myself.
🎯 Build a strong team and network of advisors by generating 20 leads.
🎯 Establish a community of supporters by finding 5 patrons.
🎯 Generate income through consultancy services by raising $10k in successful opportunities.
Progress
Here's what I've achieved in February:
✅ I've started a customer discovery journey by releasing surveys to potential customers. This is an important step to endure our product meets the needs of our clients.
✅ I've crossed some significant milestones on our Python-based CLI and web API. These tools will help us deliver a seamless and user-friendly experience for our customers.
✅ Perhaps most exciting of all, we're now ranked #2 in SEO for anyone searching Google for a ‘static documentation consultant’. This is a great validation of the hard work I’ve been putting in to make my services stand out!
Bonus: Last month, I discussed the benefits of Aivy Lee's prioritization method for balancing tasks. This motivated me to create a prototype GPT3-based ChatBot — which I quickly put together using Vercel and Next.js. Check it out here: Meet A.Ivy Lee and be gentle on my API credits 🤖
What a minute: What is water?
Have you ever heard the story about the two young fish swimming along, when an elder fish swims by and asks:
"Morning boys, how's the water?"
And the two young fish swim on for a bit, and then eventually one of them looks over at the other and goes “What the hell is water?”
The point of the fish story is merely that the most obvious, important realities are often the ones that are hardest to see and talk about.
This anecdote, as shared by David Foster Wallace, reminds us how even the most obvious aspects of our environment can be easy to overlook.
It is true that rudimentary concepts — like portfolio variance and Sharpe ratios — can be quite easy for us to ignore or dismiss since they require a considerable amount of attention to figure out.
However, as we strive to comprehend all of the technicalities that come with modern-day returns, we must not lose sight of the bigger picture.
Taking a step back every now and then can help us gain perspective and ensure that we are making progress toward achieving our objectives. By refreshing our minds and seeing our work from a different angle, we can identify potential pitfalls that we may have overlooked and come up with better solutions to problems.
So, let's take a cue from the elder fish and stay aware of our environment as we work towards our goals. By doing so, we can ensure that our efforts are aligned with our objectives, and we are moving towards success. Share your thoughts in the comments below!
